Bonus Post 16 – ThanksRibbing

What is ThanksRibbing anyway?

ThanksRibbing should be credited to my film friend Brian Boye – the same Brian Boye who was made famous in Albany, NY for his short film that mocked Nickelback (a film he did with our late friend Dave Berry):

ThanksRibbing refers to that time of the year – almost always in October – when McDonald’s puts the McRib back on their menu.

I think it’s fair to say that Brian actually coined the term ThanksRibbing because this is what you’ll find when you Google it:

Yes, the guy in the middle is Brian. Brian, we need to get you on this podcast.

Mike is no stranger to ThanksRibbing. In fact, below is his 2019 partaking of this close-knit observance:

2 McRib sandwiches, fries, and an agnostic beverage.

Bonus Post 15 – The Slump Buster Game

To say that I have been in a slump in tournament play is the understatement of the century.

The slump ended tonight with this game. I am on White, and my opponent is one of the handful of kids that regularly participates in an otherwise adult tournament.

61 moves – all done very quickly (at least on my end).

As for how it ended: Black resigned right after the pawn was promoted. Put simply, there was a real possibility that I could have checkmated him on my next turn.

The opening was classified as a Queen’s Pawn Opening: Zukertort Chigorin Variation.

Stories That Would Otherwise Be Left Untold

Episode 18 of This Podcast Is… Uncalled For

Click here to download and listen.

Due to circumstances involving Adam Archuleta, we have to end Season 1 of This Podcast Is… Uncalled For with this episode.

These are stories that Mike experienced and wants to tell, but feels that he won’t be able to in the context of podcast interviews.

So, here they five of these stories:

  1. The origin story of the “best fucking potatoes”
  2. “If you have a problem with me and the way I do things…”
  3. Why Mike will never run for President of the United States
  4. The “dude on wet” story
  5. Why Mike is never allowed on the south side of Tulsa (Go Roos!)

There will be a Season 2 (at the very least)! Stay tuned for that.

The game is called That’s a Wrap! The Game of Filmmaking Frenzy. It’s a card-based game where the players play movie directors trying to make successful films.

One of the playtesters for this game: Mike Czerniewski.

Bonus Post 13 – Lower League Soccer Wiki

In recent months, some fools (likely MLS/USL sycophants) took to Wikipedia and started outright deleting Wikipedia entries for America’s lower league clubs.

In response, a lower league Wiki was started:

https://lower-league-soccer-usa.fandom.com

As of this post, Santa Fe Wanderers – the Kansas City based club supported by Mike – has a dedicated page on this Wiki:

https://lower-league-soccer-usa.fandom.com/wiki/Santa_Fe_Wanderers

Other clubs with pages so far include: AFC Mobile, Kingston Stockade (notable co-plaintiffs with Miami FC in their #ProRelForUSA case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport), OKC 1889 FC, and Wanderers’ former UPSL rival Bugeaters FC.

So, check it out!
